Summary:
Zack Greinke trained with us during the 2022–2023 offseason. At 39 years old, he came in throwing 92 in the cage—unsure if he was going to play again, but still curious. Still open. Still Greinke. You don’t coach him. You converse. You collaborate. And you sure as hell don’t bend the truth.

Before Training:
He was coming off a season with declining strikeout totals and fewer weapons. His curveball wasn’t playing the same, and his margin was narrowing. He showed up anyway—quietly searching for what might give him one more edge.

What We Worked On:

• Sweeper Development: It took some time, but he bought in. It became his best-performing pitch in 2023
  
  

• Grip Recovery: Midseason, in May 2023, he texted for his old changeup grip. Got it back. His words: “I’m nasty again.”
